Gary L. Craven, 85, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, June 30, 2025.
Gary was the husband of the late Dorothy M. (Blackwell) Craven, who passed away on July 16, 2017. They shared 58 years of marriage. They met in New Smyrna Beach, Florida, and married on January 1, 1959, and moved to Bradley Beach, NJ, soon after.
He was the son of the late Percy and Vera (McMillan) Craven. He was born in Clarkston, MI, and attended Clarkston High School.
Gary retired from banking after 36 years as a branch manager for National Westminster Bank. He enjoyed traveling, reading, antique cars, and especially his two cats, Abby and Katie. Gary was a member of Rotary International and a former president of the Wall Township, New Jersey Rotary Club.
Gary is survived by a daughter, Nancy of Ephrata; a son, Wayne, husband of Terri of Thornhurst, PA; a granddaughter, Marie of Little Egg Harbor, NJ; three great-grandchildren, Naomi, Nathan, Wesley of Little Egg Harbor, NJ; a step-grandson, Thomas Kosich of Toms River, NJ; a sister-in-law, JoAnn Bridge of Laurel, DE and numerous nieces and nephews.
A viewing will be held on Saturday, July 12, 2025, from 10 to 11 AM, at Mohler Church of the Brethren, 21 East Mohler Church Road, Ephrata, followed by his funeral service at 11 AM, with Pastor Cody Schwanger officiating. Interment will take place in the Mohler Church of the Brethren Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in Gary's memory to Mohler Church of the Brethren, 21 East Mohler Church Road, Ephrata, PA 17522.
