Gayle M. Mazza, age 83 of Douglas, passed away June 16, 2025 at Addington Place in Holland.
Gayle was born in Chicago, IL to John and Helen Scheringa where she was one of four children. She graduated from Sienna High School and then at the age of 17, moved to San Francisco where she spent many years. She enjoyed sewing, upholstry, quilting, and spending her summers in Douglas, MI.
Gayle was preceded in death by her son, Michael Mazza; brother, Jack Scheringa; and sister Jean Zay.
She is survived by her daughter, Marie (Michael) Cossick; grandchildren, Giada, Sofia, Lenna; sister, Susan (Ken) Stahl, along with many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A visitation will take place on Monday, June 23 from 9-11am at Dykstra Funeral Home - Saugatuck Chapel. A graveside service will follow the visitation at Saugatuck Riverside Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to Gentiva Hospice.
