Geneva Gahagen Franks, 100, of Laurens,SC, and wife of the late Raymond D. Franks, passed away on Saturday, June 28, 2025, at PRISMA Laurens County Hospital.
Born on October 9, 1924, in Kentucky, Geneva was a daughter of the late Elmer and Ella Gahagen. She was a resident of Martha Franks Baptist Retirement Community where she enjoyed an active life. She was a member of First Christian Church in Sun City, AZ. For three years during WWII, Geneva worked as a Rosie the Riveter for the wings of the FYU Course Aircraft.
Geneva is survived by children, Barbara Lynn (David) of Georgia and Larry Franks (Pollyanna) of Laurens; grandchildren, Taunjia Lynn, Kara Campbell (Merle), Corey Franks, and Laura Reveles; great grandchildren, Lorrin, Christopher, Morgan, Andrew, Emily, Aurelia, and Camilo; and six great-great grandchildren.
In addition to her husband and parents, Geneva is predeceased by three brothers and two sisters.
A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, July 16, 2025, at 10:00 am at Mapleview Cemetery in Marion. Gilbert Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
