Geneva Jackson, birth into this world on August 12, 1948, in Galveston, Texas, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family, on June 30, 2025. She was the cherished daughter of the late Arthur and Pearlie Goins. Geneva graduated from Central High School in 1967 and went on to build a long, dedicated career at UTMB, where she retired in 2008.
Geneva was an incredible daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, and friend – full of charm, a little spice, and a whole lot of love. She brought joy, strength, and laughter wherever she went.
Geneva was preceded in death by her brothers Arthur Goins, Lineal Goins, Richard Goins, and her sister Phyllis Brooks.
She leaves a legacy of love and treasured memories through her devoted husband, Martin Jackson, daughter Rosalyn Jackson and her beloved son Martin Jackson, Jr. (Rufus)
She is lovingly remembered by her seven grandchildren; Braxton Jackson, Geneva Cano, Vennisha Jackson, Dorian Jackson, Novian Short, Tevin Jackson, and Adrianna West, along with twelve great-grandchildren.
She is also survived by her siblings; Pearlie Josey, Dahney Gooden, Willie Lee Goins, Audrey Romar, and Denise Deyon. Geneva also leaves behind numerous great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends who will miss her deeply. She will be remembered most for her infectious laugh and fiery spirit, which strengthened and uplifted everyone she met.
