GENEVIEVE CANNELLA (nee Salvia), age 86 of Oakwood Village, born on July 4, 1939, in Cleveland. Beloved wife of the late Frank Cannella and the late Jack Scharf; cherished mother of Mary C. (Mark) Strimple, Frances M. (Todd) Zvaigzne, and Alex (Rose) Cannella; loving grandmother of Amanda (Jesse), David (Becca), Karlie (Nick), Marissa (Dalton), Mitchell (Abby), Samantha (Landon), Natalie, and Lexie (Mason); dear great grandmother of Oliva, Amelia, Kaley, Sullivan, Katherine, Bennett, Jack, and Graham; daughter of the late Marianna and Phillip Salvia; sister of the John (Fran) Salvia and Josephine (late John) Tusai; sister-in-law of the late Josephine (late George) Zembar and Lucy (Lou) Pantalo; aunt and great aunt to many. Gen was an active member of her community and gave generously of her time. She volunteered for Meals on Wheels, was secretary of AARP, counted weekly donations at St. Mary Church, Bedford, and was the treasurer of the church women’s guild. She was always fundraising for something. She loved to play cards and up until her passing she always had a hot card game she attended with her friends. Gen enjoyed her girl luncheons, frequent trips to the casino, hourly phone calls with her sister, a good margarita, and loved to laugh. Family and friends are welcome on Tuesday, July 15 from 10 A.M – 11 A.M. at St. Mary Church, 340 Union Street, Bedford, OH 44146, with a Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 11 A.M. Entombment at Hillcrest Memorial Park Cemetery, Bedford Hts. No flowers, please. The family would appreciate contributions to St. Mary Church, Bedford in memory of Gen.
