George Walter Hall, 83 of Medora passed away Sunday, June 1, 2025

at Columbus Regional Hospital. Born October 24,1941, he was the son of Thomas Willison and Harriett (Goss) Hall of Medora.

George grew up in Medora the second of four children and graduated from Medora High School in 1959. He attended Indiana University and Eastern Kentucky University before enlisting in the Army in 1964. He served with the 100th Army band at Fort Knox, KY and then with the 56th Army band at Fort Lewis, WA until his discharge in 1966.

He married Betty Ann Gasaway on January 4, 1969, at the Medora United Methodist Church where he was a member. For many years he was a farmer, and he owned and operated Hall Construction Inc. He was a member of the Medora Masonic Lodge #328 for 62 years and Scottish Rite Valley of Indianapolis.

George enjoyed gardening, birdwatching, and golfing with friends. He could often be found working to preserve and improve the heart and spirit of his home. Above all, he cherished the time spent with his friends and family, and the memories he made with them. He was always happy, full of joy, and loved by all.

Survivors include two sons, Anthony Joe Hall and his wife Jacki of Medora and Shawn Hall of Bedford; one daughter, Heather Hall Pham and her husband Edward of San Jose, California; two sisters, Jane Hall Huffman of Seymour and Sue Hall Boknecht and her husband Terry of Brownstown; a brother-in-law Norman " Mickey" Beck of Seymour; eight grandchildren, Travis Hall, Bridget Hall, Kendale Hall, Shane Hall, Chandra Pham, Evan Pham, Lydia Pham and Oliver Pham; two great-granddaughters, Harvie Hall and Zylah Hall, and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, and a daughter, Chandra Ann Hall, a sister, Sara Beck, a brother-in-law Monte Huffman and a nephew Craig Huffman.

Friends may visit with George's family from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm Thursday, June 5, 2025, and from 9:30 until service time at 10:30 Friday at Medora United Methodist Church, 42 East Adams Street, Medora with Pastor Larry Bennett officiating. Interment will follow at the Goss Cemetery 6245 W Co Rd 150S near Medora.

A Masonic Service will be conducted at 7:00 pm at Medora Methodist Church on Thursday.

Arrangements entrusted to Hague Funeral Home, Medora. Memorials may be given in George's memory to Medora United Methodist Church.

George was a valued friend, teammate and 1959 Medora High School Classmate. He was a credit to his country, state, county and community of Medora. I treasure the time of was able to spend with him. Rest in peace my fellow Hornet.
