Georgina M. Fortier Age 89 Dover, NH
Georgina Fortier, Age 89, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 22, 2025, at Langdon Place in Dover.
The daughter of Thelma and Samuel Britton, she was born in Everett, Massachusetts on February 22, 1936. She was married to William G. Fortier, Sr. until his death in 2015. She and Bill lived in Dover for many years, raising five children there.
Gina was an amazing wife and mother, doing anything and everything she needed to do to support her husband and children. She was quietly strong until the end. Her favorite things to do were bowling, dancing with her husband and friends at the American Legion, keeping her yard looking beautiful, and watching birds in her yard. She especially loved cardinals. As she got older, she became skilled at crocheting, and made many blankets for her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her husband William, Sr., brothers Joe Britton of Danvers, Mass., Bill Barry of Bedford, and sisters Joan Drapinski of Saugus, Mass., Florence Boquino of Farmington, and is survived by a sister, Donna Ashman of Dover. She is survived by her children: son Joseph Fortier, Sr. and his wife Jenny of Somersworth, daughter Cindy and husband Frank Merrill of Somersworth, son William Fortier, Jr. and his wife Atsuko of Las Vegas, NV, son Robert Fortier and his wife Davita of Rochester, and daughter Gina Fortier and her partner Tracy Watson of Plaistow. Also, grandchildren Joy, JT, Rachel, Elizabeth, Anthony, Megan, Billy, Eric, Marissa, twelve great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
Visiting hours will be held Thursday, November 6, 2025, from 10-11 am at Wiggin-Purdy-McCooey-Dion Funeral Home, 655 Central Ave., Dover, NH 03820. A short service will follow, and burial immediately after at St. Charles Cemetery in Dover.
