Gerald "Jerry" Frederick Sheppard of Holt passed away, May 2, 2025. He was born in Detroit, Michigan on December 1, 1938, the son of Reginald and Leanor (Bonning) Sheppard; and the brother of Virginia (Sheppard) Mullen.
Jerry was an Investigator for the Michigan Corporation, Securities & Land Development Bureau for 32 years where he was focused on white collar crimes. Prior to that he was a Compliance Officer for Blyth, Eastman Dillon & Co. and E.F. Hutton. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy serving aboard the USS Hawkins DDR 873.
Jerry was a member of the University United Methodist Church and Eaton Rapids United Methodist Church Senior Choirs for 43 years where he also gave his time as a volunteer and board member. Jerry was an avid tennis player and runner for many years. Known as a kind and caring man, he loved his family and enjoyed traveling with his wife and friends until she preceded him in death.
Jerry was preceded in death by his loving wife, Nan in 2014. He is survived by his sons, William (Linda) Sheppard of Northville, David Sheppard of Holt; grandchildren, Skye (Madeline Petrites) Sheppard of Lansing and Quinn Sheppard of Okemos; sister, Virginia Mullen of Grand Blanc; and cousins, Robert (Beverly) Galloway of Indialantic, FL and Dr. Bonnie (Robert Robinson) Galloway of Lawrenceville, NJ.
A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00am on Saturday, June 7, 2025, at University United Methodist Church, 1120 S Harrison Rd, East Lansing MI 48823. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Arrangements were entrusted to the Mills Funeral Home, Shelly-Odell Chapel in Eaton Rapids. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of Lansing, 3411 Stoneleigh Drive, Lansing MI 48910, in loving memory of Gerald Frederick Sheppard.
