Geraldine Brown Obituary

Geraldine "Gerry" Wiley Brown, beloved partner, mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 3, 2025, at the age of 90. She was born on March 11, 1935, in Princeton, West Virginia to Lena Lillian Smith Wiley and John Robert Wiley. Gerry was a loving partner to Richard Frank for more than 21 years, a devoted mother to her children, Cheryl Holden (son-in-law Henry Holden), Sandy Friberg (son-in-law Scott Friberg), Steve Brown (daughter-in-law Elaine Brown), and Jennifer Brown Militello; a cherished grandmother, "GG" to Emily and Jason, Matthew and Amy, Daniel, Sarah, Jennifer, John, Michael, Lauren and Ryan, Luke and Lacie, Nicholas, William, Ford, Mary and Becca; and a great grandmother, "GGG" to Leland, Luke Jr., Eli, and Mia.
Gerry will be remembered for her cheerful personality, incredible love and dedication to her family, always lending an ear and a warm embrace, commitment to her church, love for Jesus Christ, and her generosity. She had a passion for traveling, gardening, story-telling, line-dancing, and finding bargains at yard sales.
Gerry was predeceased by her late husband, James O. Brown, Jr., her parents John and Lena Wiley, and her brother, John Robert Wiley, Jr.
Visitation services will be held at Hardesty Funeral Home in Gambrills, MD on July 10, 2025, from 2-4pm and 6-8pm. A celebration of life service will be held on July 11, 2025, at 11am at Nichols-Bethel United Methodist Church in Odenton, MD.
