Geraldine M. Hryniewich, age 67, passed away on October 14, 2025, after a period of declining health. She was born in Cambridge, Massachusetts, and spent her childhood in Acton, the fourth daughter in a family of nine children. She was involved in theater at Acton Boxborough High School and worked part-time at several local restaurants, including Howard Johnson's and Russo's. After graduation, she attended the University of Lowell, where she earned a degree in Mechanical Engineering. Her first job was at RCA in Burlington, and she continued to study Environmental Engineering at the University of Lowell.
Geraldine enjoyed spending time with her friends and family. She traveled to many sites in Europe, Canada, and the New England states. Her hobbies included embroidery, knitting, and crossword puzzles.
She is survived by her siblings, Lucille Canty, of Norfolk, VA, William Hryniewich of Acton, Rebecca Hryniewich of Norfolk, VA, Dr. Mark Hryniewich of Sterling, MA., Paul Hryniewich of North Yarmouth, MA, John Hryniewich of Fitchburg, MA, and numerous nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her parents, Joseph and Rosemary Hryniewich, her sister Charlene Rowe, and her brother James Hryniewich.
Visiting hours will be on Monday, October 20th, from 5-7 PM, at the Acton Funeral Home. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 AM on Tuesday, October 21st, at St. Elizabeth's Church in Acton.
