Robert Steckert Obituary
It is with deep sadness that we share the peaceful passing of Robert A. Steckert, 71, of Naugatuck. Bob was the devoted husband of Linda (Hall) Steckert and father of Matthew Steckert. Born April 6, 1954 in Derby, son of the late Joseph and Henrietta (Strasinski) Steckert. He graduated from Seymour High School and earned his degree as a 3D draftsman from Porter and Chester Institute. Bob had worked at Innovative Solutions of Naugatuck and completed his career while working at Inline Plastics of Shelton.
As an accomplished photographer, Bob loved being at the seashore. He would sit quietly enjoying the scene while contemplating the capture of his next photo. He enjoyed cooking and sharing his creations with his family. He was a man of deep and abiding Catholic faith. He was a parishioner of St. Augustine Church, St. Nicholas Parish of Seymour. With the advent of his illness, it became impossible for him to attend mass at his home church. He then attended communion service regularly with Linda at the River Glen Health Care Center where he resided. Family was the center of Bob's heart, his faith his guide in life.
Left to cherish his love and memory are his loving wife Linda and son Matthew as well as his brother John Steckert of VT. He also leaves his niece Melissa Lord of Waterbury and nephew Michael Hall of TN, as well as many cousins.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 28, 2025 from 9am to 11am at Prospect Memorial/ The Palmerie Family Funeral Home, 122 Waterbury Rd., Prospect.
