Gershun Knight Obituary

Mr. Gershun "Shawn" Knight was called home to heaven on Thursday, August 28, 2025. Born November 16, 1968, to Mr. Willie Lee and Shirley Jones in Bulloch County. He graduated from Reidsville High School in 1986. He joined the United States Air Force in 1987 and was stated at Tinker Air Force Base in Germany, Lakenheath AFB in Suffolk, England, Allied Joint force Command in Brunssum, Netherlands, and Ramstein AFB. He retired from the Air Force at Buckley AFB in Denver Colorado in 2009. Upon retirement he went to work for the military as a civilian at Barksdale AFB in Shreveport, Louisiana. He was currently working at the AFRICOM in Stuttgart Germany. He was currently working at the Barksdale AFB in Shreveport, Louisiana. He was preceded in death by his mother Shirley Jones, his sister, Willawna Jones and his nephew, Rashad Jones. Survivors include his dad, Willie L (Brenda) Jones, Twin City, GA; two sisters, Sherral C. Jones, Dallas, TX, LaTunisha S. Jones, Pooler, GA, one niece, Ariana S. Jones and one nephew Jayden D. Madison, Pooler, GA, Fiancée, Henriette "Herriet" Hulst, Netherland, a bonus daughter, Sidney Hulst, Tilburg, Netherlands; and a host of uncles, aunts, cousins, other family members and friends. Visitation will be Friday, September 5th at James A. Kirkland Mortuary from 1:00 p.m. to 6:00 P.M.
