Glenda Faye Carnefix, a woman known for her boundless love, infectious laughter, and generous spirit, passed away peacefully, and surrounded by love on June 23, 2025, in Rogers, Arkansas. She was 74 years old.
Glenda made her home in Pea Ridge, Arkansas for the past 20 years, where she cultivated not only her beautiful garden, but also a legacy of kindness, wisdom, and joy that will long outlive her. Her smile could light up a room, and her gentle, unselfish nature touched all who knew her.
A devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, Glenda found her greatest joy in caring for others-whether it was through preparing a warm meal, nurturing her flower beds, watching the birds play outside her window, or teaching her grandchildren and great-grandchildren to find beauty in the simple things. She was also a lifelong animal lover and opened her heart and home to many rescue pets over the years.
For more than 40 years, Glenda faithfully served as a volunteer Bible teacher as one of Jehovah's Witnesses. Her deep faith and hope in God's promises found in the Bible formed the foundation of her life, and she shared that hope freely and lovingly with others. Her favorite saying, "This too shall pass," was a quiet reminder of her strength, resilience, and belief in better days ahead.
She is survived by her beloved husband of 28 years, Steven Carnefix; daughters Diane Hale of Bakersfield, California, and Melissa Miller-Kingsley of Rogers, Arkansas; stepchildren Sean Carnefix of Missouri, Libby Brockman of New York, and Scott Carnefix of North Carolina; ten cherished grandchildren; and seven adored great-grandchildren. She also leaves behind her dear siblings Vonda Miller of Oklahoma, Treila Heise of Texas, Sam Darst and Doc Darst of Oklahoma, and Walter Darst of California.
Glenda was preceded in death by her parents, Clifford Darst and Nellie Wilhite, as well as her brothers Mike Darst and Doyle Woods.
A service to commemorate Glenda's life will be held soon, with details to be shared with family and friends. In the meantime, her family invites all who knew her to remember her with warmth, to cherish the lessons she so lovingly passed on, and to smile whenever they see a blooming flower, a curious bird, or a beloved pet-just as Glenda would have.
