Rock Hill, SC – Mr. Glenn Dean Wade, 84, passed away Monday, October 7, 2024 at his home.
A graveside service will be held at Grandview Memorial Park, 620 S. Cherry Road, Rock Hill, SC 29732.
Born in Athens, TN, Mr. Wade was the son of the late James Ralph Wade and the late Myrtle Bell Tinker Wade. He was a charter member of Calvary Baptist Church where he and his wife were faithful choir members. Mr. Wade retired as a welder from Westinghouse in 1995. Several of his hobbies were fishing, painting and reading. He also practiced being a novice photographer. When it came to sports, he was an avid NASCAR/Jeff Gordon fan. As for football, it was Bearcats, Gamecocks, and Panthers, all the way! "Once a Bearcat, Always a Bearcat!" He and his family enjoyed years of travel and spending time together playing ROOK. Mr. Wade was the widower of Frankie Summers Wade. They were blessed to share 53 years together.
He is survived by his son, Alan Wade (Kim) of Saint Marys, GA; his daughter, Sharon W. Hovis (David) of Rock Hill; five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by brother, Harold Wade and his sister, Carlene Wade Brakefield.
Memorials may be made in Mr. Wade's name to Agape Hospice, 1069 Bayshore Drive, Rock Hill, SC 29732.
