Blek, Gloria Ann,
Age 80, of Champlin, MN formerly of Mott, ND, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on July 10, 2025, after a courageous battle of Pancreatic Cancer.
Preceded in death by parents Arnold and Bertha Kilber, Father and Mother in-law Herman and Opal Blek, sister-in-law Althea Kilber. Survived by husband of 55 years Richard, children Cindy (Jeremy) Osterbauer, Kristy (Jim) Hauer, Brian (Kristie) Blek, 9 Grand-children Kelsey, Brandon (Samantha), Nick, Taylor, Cole, Sean, Wyatt, Dawson, Cecelia, 4 Great-Grandchildren Cattleya, Harper, Haisleigh, Mariposa, Siblings Marge (Tony) Schwartz, Roger (Joyce Linder) Kilber, Linda (Duane) Waddell, Bob (Sandy) Kilber, Tim (Sue) Kilber, Bruce Kilber, Lori (Roger) Tresch, many other relatives and friends.
Gloria was born in Hazen ND on September 1, 1944, her family's home was in Beulah, ND in the back half of the Barbershop that her dad owned. When she was in 2nd grade they moved to Center ND, then in 3rd grade the family moved to Mott ND.
Confirmed from Christ Lutheran Church Mott, ND March 30, 1958.
In High school she worked for the Dr in town baby sitting and cleaning his house, she also worked at the clinic.
Gloria graduated from Mott Lincoln High School in 1962. She attended Bismark Junior college for 2 years and then transferred to University of North Dakota for 1 year. She completed her one-year internship for Medical Technology at St. Joseph's Hospital in St. Paul, MN. She graduated from UND August 13, 1966, with a degree of Bachelor of Science in Medical Technology. She worked at Abbott Northwestern Hospital as a Medical Technologist for 43 years. Many times nursed would request for her to come draw blood for the delicate Elderly and Babies. She took great pride that she could gently draw their blood on the first try.
Gloria was very involved in her Church, a member of First Baptist Church of Anoka. She helped with Vacation Bible School and Sunday School. Attended numerous different Bible Studies. She could never turn down a game of cards with family and friends and often participated in card clubs. Gloria enjoyed watching sports and was a huge Vikings and North Dakota Bison football fan. She was the biggest fan of her Kids and Grandkids events and competitions.
Many of her friends would make comments about how selfless she was and would always put others first. She was a very caring Wife and mother and loved her family deeply, her biggest joy was her grand and great grandchildren.
Memorial service 1:00 PM Saturday, July 19 with gathering 1 hour prior at First Baptist Church of Anoka, 1235 Park Street, Anoka.
