On Sunday, July 6, Gloria E. Dougherty of Glen Burnie passed away peacefully surrounded by her loved ones. Devoted wife of 50 years to the late Edward F. Dougherty, who passed away in 2010 after a courageous battle with Parkinsons disease. Beloved mother of Barry K. Dougherty (Patti Tait; children Morgan and Drew) and Drue E. Dougherty (step-daughter Addalyn); cherished grandmother of Tori A. Dougherty; treasured friend and former mother-in-law of Kari Larson Decker; loving sister to the late Ruth Yaruta and Phil Dulany. She is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, and dear friends.
Affectionately known as "Gram" to her family, Gloria was born and raised in Maryland. In her youth, she was an active member of the Yankee Rebels Drum Corps where she met her future husband and many lifelong friends. Gloria enjoyed shopping and going on family vacations in Ocean City. Most especially, she loved spending time with her sons, her granddaughter, and those closest to her heart. She was an exceptional woman whose absence will be deeply felt by all who loved her.
Donations in her name may be made to the Maryland Association for Parkinsons Support
