Gloria Berrelez Ruiz, aged 73, passed away on July 12, 2025. She was born on April 10, 1952, to Gregorio Berrelez and Matilda Gonzalez Berrelez. Gloria was a beloved mother, sister, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She is survived by her children: Leticia Rangel (Junior), Guadalupe Ruiz Jr., Rojelio Ruiz, Dora Reed (Mark), Irma Richardson (Tommy Jr.), Esmeralda Ruiz Garza, and Esperanza R. Sanchez (Joe). She also leaves behind her siblings: Gregorio Berrelez Jr. (Anita), Yolanda Sanchez (Hilberto), and Catarina Hurtado (Lupe). Gloria was blessed with 23 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren who will cherish her memory.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lupe M. Ruiz, her parents, and her brothers Pete, Marcos, Jesus, and Jose. Gloria's life was filled with love and dedication to her family, and she will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Pallbearers honoring her memory include Julian Ruiz, Tommy Richardson Jr., Joe Sanchez, Junior Rangel, Xavier Reed, and Brian Gandara. Honorary pallbearers are Marissa Ruiz and Delilah Garza.
Visitation will be held on Friday, July 18, 2025, at Trevino Royal Oaks Funeral Chapels from 8am-9:45am. A funeral service will follow at the Iglesia Evangelica Christiana (516 W. Colorado St.) at 10am. Interment will follow to the Pearsall Cemetery.
