Gordon Heath a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, was born on September 14, 1950, in Michie, TN, to the late Rubel and Nora Banks Heath. He was united in marriage to Carrol Fletcher on December 16, 1972, sharing a life filled with love and commitment.
Gordon dedicated many years of his life to his work, retiring from Intermet in 2011. He was skilled as a mechanic and carpenter, having learned these trades from his father. In addition, he enjoyed driving trucks, a testament to his hardworking spirit.
Family was central to Gordon's life; he cherished watching his grandchildren grow and spent countless joyful moments with them. His passions included working on tractors, engaging in woodworking, and his lifelong admiration for fast cars and Mopar vehicles. He also found joy in spending time with his pets, forging bonds with every dog he encountered. Gordon took pride in restoring his 1961 D15 Allis Chalmers tractor, which became a symbol of his dedication and craftsmanship, particularly showcased at tractor shows.
Gordon departed this life on August 6, 2025, in Michie, Tennessee, at the age of 74 years, 10 months, and 23 days. He is survived by his devoted wife, Carrol Heath of Michie, TN; his daughter, Michelle Heath of Bethel Springs, TN; and his son, Sammy Heath and wife Amy of Bethel Springs, TN. He was a proud grandfather to Emmalea Horn and Will Heath both of Bethel Springs, TN. He had many special friends who enriched his life including Vernon Dorris, Poley Hurst, Brandon Langhans, Jackie Hamm, Nathan Harrison, and Jonathan Clausel.
The family extends a heartfelt thank you to Legacy Hospice, Cathy Heath for her loving care, and Trinity Medical Clinic, especially Rhonda Hunt, for their support and compassion during this time.
In addition to his parents, Gordon was preceded in death by an infant sister and brother. His legacy of love, dedication, and skill will forever be cherished and remembered by all who knew him.
