Gordon Johnson Obituary

Gordon Francis Johnson, age 83, of Moyock, NC, passed away at his residence on Sunday, July 13, 2025. Born in Brockton, MA, on April 13, 1942, to the late Ejnar W. Johnson and Audrey Miles Johnson, he was the husband of Deborah Durdle Johnson.
Gordon was a man whose life was marked by his love for woodworking, his enthusiasm for riding motorcycles, and his fondness for the game of golf. He was a proud member of Hope Lutheran Church, where his faith and commitment to community were evident to all who knew him. He honorably served in the U.S. Coast Guard, embodying the values of diligence and patriotism throughout his service. In addition to his religious and military affiliations, he was an active member of the American Legion, where he formed lasting friendships and contributed to the organization's mission of supporting fellow veterans and their communities.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his daughter, Crystal Rene Johnson of VA; son, Erik Lee Johnson of VA; sister, Lou Ann Chilauskas (Paul) of MA; brothers, Russell Edward Johnson (Sheila) of MA and Cary Allen Johnson (Elaine) of MA; grandchildren; Elliot Johnson, Clark Johnson, Louis Johnson, Mattie Johnson, Kristen Rowland, Caren Raahauge, Madeline Myers, Nicholas Woods, and James Johnson; and great-grandchild, Raymond Rowland. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Raymond Adam Johnson, and his sister, Diane Henry.
A memorial service for Gordon will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, August 7, 2025 at Hope Lutheran Church, 5350 Providence Road, Virginia Beach, VA 23464. Inurnment will follow at 3:00 p.m. at Albert G. Horton, Jr., Memorial Veterans Cemetery, 5310 Milners Road, Suffolk, VA 23434.
