Grant "Grantsky" Jacob Bizosky, 16, of Kickapoo, Illinois, passed away peacefully next to his family on Tuesday, July 15, 2025 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria, Illinois.
Grant was born on March 20, 2009 to the parents of Kelly (Zinser) and Kenny Bizosky, also of Kickapoo, Illinois. He has two brothers, Cleveland (18) and Ziggy (8). Grant would have wanted to recognize his favorite companion, his dog Buddy, who was always by his side.
Grant was preparing to enter his Junior year this fall with so many of his friends at Brimfield High School. Outside of his family and friends, academics were always Grant's top priority. He had dreams of being a pilot one day. There was never a doubt he would have accomplished those dreams had he been given the chance.
If you knew Grant, (besides hanging with his brothers and friends), his other passion included buying the newest and trendiest shoes and clothes. He knew the exact day and time when they would be released and he would save his hard earned money that he received from his job (Louisville Slugger Complex) to bid or buy them. Grant also loved playing basketball.
With all of that said, Grant's biggest attribute to life was his love, compassion and heart for others. Grant was definitely a people person. He put others problems ahead of his, even when his battle with cancer got worse. He would give the shirt off of his back for you and he would spend more time worrying about others than himself. He was compassionate, loving, head strong and mature above his years. He was also an amazing brother to Cleveland and Ziggy. Although life was cut too short, he made a difference in life and anyone who knew him said the same.
Grant is survived by his mother and father, Kelly and Kenny Bizosky, his grandmothers, Christine Zinser and Pam Bizosky, his Uncles and Aunts- Rob and Mamie Zinser of Kickapoo, IL, Dr. Katie and Dr. Josh Barnewolt of Kickapoo, IL, Jenni and Mark Vorhees of Mascoutah, IL and Tom Bizosky of Chicago, IL. Grant also has 10 cousins, Lily, Bobby, Ethan, Rosie, Madelaine, Charlie, Tyler, Ethan, Stephanie and Allison. His is preceded in death by his grandfathers, Dr. Bob Zinser and Tom Bizosky.
Cremation rites have been accorded. Visitation will be held at St. Mary's Kickapoo Parish Hall on Tuesday, July 22, 2025 from 4:00 PM until time of prayer service at 7:00 PM. A memorial Mass of Christian burial will be held at St. Mary Catholic Church in Kickapoo on Wednesday, July 23, 2025, at 10:30 AM. Father Joe Dondanville will officiate and private burial of ashes will be held at a later date.
The family would like to thank so many of those who have helped out over the past year with Grant's battle. No words can express the appreciation.
In lieu of flowers, preferred memorials may be made to the Grant Bizosky Memorial Fund C/O CEFCU Bank.

Kelly & Kenny,

Words can't express how incredibly sorry I am to hear about the loss of your beautiful son. He fought so bravely against such a terrible disease, and knowing you and your family, I have no doubt he never gave up hope.

Please know that my heart is with you during this unimaginable time. I hope you find moments of peace and comfort in the love that surrounds you and in the strength he showed every day.
