Gregory Joseph Wisely, beloved father, partner, brother, and grandfather, passed away peacefully on June 9, 2025, in Harriman, Tennessee, at the age of 73.
Born on February 16, 1952, in Port Byron, Illinois, Greg spent most of his life in Arizona, where he became well known for his remarkable gift of conversation and connection-he could sell anything to anybody. Greg lived life fully, with a passion for good food and excellent music. He was a familiar face at concerts and festivals, always seeking out new sounds and flavors to enjoy.
Greg is preceded in death by his mother, Elaine Applegate (née Stebbins); his father, Joe Wisely; and his sister, Kristine Wisely. He is survived by his partner, Julie Gessler; his daughter, Anissa Godinez; his cherished grandsons, Riley and Ryker Godinez; his brothers; and many nieces and nephews who will remember his warmth, humor, and spirit.
A celebration of Greg's life will be held at a later date. His family invites friends and loved ones to honor his memory in their own way-perhaps by sharing a favorite meal, playing a favorite song, or attending a live show in his honor. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
Davis Funeral Home in Harriman is honored to serve the family of Mr. Gregory Joseph Wisely during this time.
