With deep sorrow and hearts full of love, we announce the passing of Guadalupe "Lupe" Acevedo, a devoted wife, mother, teacher, and woman of faith, who went home to be with the Lord on July 14, 2025, at the age of 51.
Lupe was born in Van Nuys, CA to Frank S. Gonzales and Merecedes Torres on February 1st, 1974. Since 1996, Lupe had been a proud resident of Richwood, Texas, where she built a beautiful life centered on family, faith, and community. She was the beloved wife of Jaime Acevedo and the devoted mother of their cherished son, Daniel Acevedo, who was the light of her life.
Lupe was a God-fearing woman whose Catholic faith guided every part of her life. She was an active and devoted member of her parish, always involved in church activities, volunteering her time generously, and serving others with humility and grace. Her spiritual strength was the foundation of her family and a source of inspiration to all who knew her.
A gifted educator, Lupe touched countless lives through her work as a preschool teacher at Chapelwood Preschool. She had a special gift for working with young children-patient, gentle, and nurturing. Her classroom was filled with laughter, learning, and love, and she made every child feel safe, seen, and special.
She will be remembered for her kindness, her unwavering faith, her loving nature, and the quiet strength with which she carried herself. Lupe led by example-never seeking recognition, but always offering compassion, prayer, and a helping hand. Her home was a place of warmth and welcome, filled with delicious meals, thoughtful conversations, and unconditional love.
Lupe is survived by her husband, Jaime Acevedo; her son, Daniel Acevedo; and a large, loving extended family of siblings, nieces, nephews, in-laws, godchildren, and dear friends. Though her absence leaves a profound void, her love, faith, and spirit will live on in all of us.
A viewing will be held on July 21st from 6-8pm at Stroud Funeral Home in Clute, TX. A Catholic Mass celebrating Lupe's life will be held on July 22nd at 10am at St. Jerome's Catholic Church with the funeral proceedings shortly after.
