Günther Ziegler, 65, of Hawthorne Street in North Attleboro, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, June 28, 2025, surrounded by his beloved family. He was the devoted husband of Bernadette M. (Alves) Ziegler for 43 years - a love story that began with a honeymoon in York Beach, Maine, and never stopped growing.
Born in Mühlacker, Germany, Günther immigrated to the United States at the age of 10, settling on Marjorie Street in Attleboro, MA. He was the son of the late Ferdinand and Anna (Berger) Ziegler, and from a young age, he followed in his father's footsteps as a builder, innovator, and entrepreneur.
Günther began working at A.F. Ziegler & Son alongside his dad, eventually taking the helm in 1990. The company became AZON, and later RingMesh, which he led with vision, integrity, and perseverance for over 40 years. A man of few words, strong convictions, and unwavering honesty. He often reminded those around him: "Let's not forget who we are and where we are," a motto that reflected his belief in staying grounded, leading by example, and never forgetting your roots.
A true original, Günther had a deep love of horses, four-wheeling, and road trips. From trips to York Beach, Maine, to long drives to the Grand Canyon, he just loved to get in the car and feel the road. He collected watches, knives, lighters, and cherished the soundtrack of a good movie - because to him, the music told the real story. He was quick with a joke, generous with his time and heart, and fiercely protective of the ones he loved.
Günther was a man of faith who read the Bible daily and prayed often with his family. He was most at peace knowing his children and grandchildren were happy, healthy, and safe. He didn't need the spotlight to feel proud - he simply wanted his family to thrive.
He loved the family being together during holidays, especially Christmas Eve, and created a lifetime of memories during trips to York Beach with the people he cherished most. He was "Opa" to his grandchildren, who loved him dearly.
In addition to his wife, Bernadette, he leaves behind his children: Ferdinand "Andy" Ziegler and his wife, Danielle, of Burrillville; Michael Ziegler and his wife, Mary, of Burrillville; and Shaina Furia and her husband, Michael, of Glocester. He was the proud Opa of Brendan, Hailey, Arianna, Ava, Lily, Benicio, and Camille. He is also survived by his loving sisters: Christel Precourt of Norton, MA, Helga Donovan of Glocester, RI, and Edith Trafford of Fort Myers, FL.
Günther's visiting hours will be held Wednesday, July 2, 2025 at from 9am - 12pm at the Anderson-Winfield Funeral Home, Route 44 at Greenville Common, Greenville, RI. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 12:30 p.m. at St. Philip Church, 622 Putnam Pike, Greenville. Burial will take place at Acote's Hill Cemetery in Chepachet, RI immediately following the mass.
