Gwendolyn Griffin Obituary

Gwendolyn Griffin affectionately known as "Pinky" to family members and friends was born on September 13, 1959, to Ruby Dell Griffin and Amanda Lee Griffin.
She stayed with her late aunt Mrs. Inez Skinner, before relocating to Passaic, New Jersey in 1969.
Gwendolyn attended the Passaic School System and Passaic High School. She later obtained her GED as and earned her CNA certification as a home health aide.
Pinky was employed as a laundry attendant for the Renteck Company, providing private home care for Mrs. Judith Kurt Mayer, and she also worked as an election poll worker for the city of Passaic.
Pinky was well known for her slick and sharp tongue. She had no filters, enjoyed having a good time, playing cards, watching TV, and cooking, but most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family whom she loved dearly. Just as her father did by giving all of his grandchildren nicknames, Pinky did the same by giving all of her nieces and nephews nicknames.
Though Pinkey's presence will be truly missed, she will never be forgotten and will forever be loved.
Pinky was preceded in death by her late son; Wallace Griffin, both parents; Ruby Dell Griffin and Amanda Lee Griffin, maternal grandparents; Robert Griffin and Bertha Edwards, her one and only aunt; Inez Skinner, two uncles; Wallace Griffin and Author Lankford, two sisters; Jacqueline Lawrence and Ruby Hines, brother; Michael Hines, nephew; Antwajan Griffin, stepmother; Brenda Hines and special extended family member; Deborah Johansky.
She leaves precious memories to her 4 children; Robert Griffin of Passaic New Jersey, Amanda Griffin of Williamspor PA, Tammur Griffin of Columbia SC, and Sean Griffin of Las Vegas NV, 10 siblings; Bertha Dye of Lodi NJ, Robert Griffin, Wallace Griffin of Passaic New Jersey, Crashell Jackson of Elmwood Park NJ, Antonio Hines, Shawn Hines, Jason Hines and Eric Hines all of Passaic NJ, Lorraine Johansky of Norfolk VA, and Jennifer Johansky of Passaic NJ, 5 grandchildren Shamil Brown and Michael Brodie Jr., of Williamsport PA, Naira Griffin of Passaic NJ, Ebony Griffin of Columbia SC, and Na-zyia Griffin of Passaic NJ, special companion Gary Cook, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and lifelong friends.
