Gwendolyn Mae Burch Myers affectionately known as "Gwen" was born on December 8, 1965, to F.M. Burch and Etta Mae Allen Burch in Mount Croghan, SC.
She received her formal education within the Chesterfield County School System, graduating from Central High School in Pageland, SC, in 1984. Subsequently, she attended Northeastern Technical College in Cheraw, SC, where she earned her certification as a Nursing Assistant.
In her youth, she was an active member of Oro United Methodist Church and later became a member of Union Hill Missionary Baptist Church, both located in Pageland, SC.
Gwen dedicated many years of her career to Yale Norton in Monroe, NC. As a Certified Nursing Assistant, she also provided care at Cheraw Healthcare and continued her commitment to healthcare by caring for her mother.
In her free time, she enjoyed shopping, dancing, and sharing laughter. She had a particular fondness for Mexican cuisine and was known for her culinary skills, often hosting family gatherings and cherishing moments with her grandchildren.
Gwendolyn Mae Burch Myers passed away on Friday, January 17, 2025, at 6:53 PM, surrounded by her family. She was preceded in death by her two children: Jasmine Desiri Burch and Jerelle Quamaine Burch; her father, F.M. Burch; and her sister, Veronica Burch-Walls.
She is survived by her husband, Frankie Myers of Pageland, SC; four grandchildren: Jakirah Desiree', Quen'Zariyah Ariyona Ka'Mya, Jasmine Desiri', and Kai'lah Dream; her mother, Evangelist Etta Mae Burch of Pageland, SC; seven siblings: Pastor Mary Burnell (Harold) of Pageland, SC, Dianne Hinson (Chris) of Charlotte, NC, Vickie Rivers (Larry) of Pageland, SC, Elder Joanne Ross (Andre) of Shelby, NC, Diane Little (Johnny) of Pageland, SC, Michael Burch (Lisa) of Pageland, SC, and Mitchell Burch (Donnell) of Pageland, SC; a special cousin, Cynthia Myers-Lockhart of Jefferson, SC, whom she regarded as a sister; a special niece, Ebony Burch-Taylor of Washington, DC;
three uncles: Charlie (Mary) Allen of Pageland, SC. Louis (Hattie) Allen of Jefferson, Ronnie Allen of Pageland, SC; three aunts: Rebecca Allen-McCray of Pageland, SC, Eliza Allen and Elsie Jordan both of Cheraw, SC; and a host of other relatives and friends.
