Harley Bruce Edens, 89, of Capon Springs, WV, went home to be with the Lord, with his wife by his side, on Sunday, July 6, 2025, at his residence.
He was born on December 28, 1935, in Hancock County, TN, the son of the late Joseph T. Edens and Louise (Stanley) Edens. Bruce was the owner of Greenway Engineering & Surveying in Winchester, VA for 50+ years. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, traveling, gardening, and spending time with his two sons, granddaughters, and friends. He also served in the U.S. Army National Guard.
Bruce married Brenda (Lane) Edens on July 30, 1993, in Winchester, VA.
Surviving in addition to his wife Brenda, are two sons, Richard A. (Kay) Edens of Winchester, VA and Edward B. (Wendy) Edens of Clearbrook, VA; one stepson, Richard B. (Anna) Keller of Winchester, VA; one stepdaughter, Marcie J. Taylor of Stephenson, VA; two sisters, Ruby Orndoff of Capon Springs, WV and Patricia Edens of Winchester, VA; 12 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.
Bruce is preceded in death by his parents and siblings; Joseph Edens, Louise (Stanley) Edens, Howard Edens, Thomas Edens, Stanley Edens, Bernice Elliott, Elizabeth "Betty" Racer, Bobbi Burhite and Jean Montonera.
A celebration of Bruce's life will be held at a later date.
