Harold Jeffrey Bouchard, age 83, of Cooks, Michigan, passed away unexpectedly at home on May 6, 2025.

Born on October 21, 1941, in Big Bay, Michigan, Harold was the son of Harold Allen Bouchard and Dorothy (Savage) Johnson. He spent most of his life in Manistique and graduated from Cooks High School. Harold worked for 27 years as a general laborer at General Motors before retiring and then spent ten years at Timber Products as a woodworker.

On October 9, 1965, Harold married the love of his life, Kathryn Marie Holmberg, in Manistique. Together, they built a life centered around family, hard work, and the great outdoors. Harold had a true passion for nature, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, shooting, trapping, and cutting firewood. He was known to be skilled woodworker, a proud NRA member, and, most importantly, a man who would do anything for anyone.

Harold is survived by his wife of fifty-nine years, Kathryn of Cooks, MI; three children: Dawn (Mazurek) of Pontiac, MI; Robin (Nick) Roach of Lapeer, MI; and Harold (Patsy) Bouchard of Cooks, MI; brothers, Todd (Shawn) Johnson of Cooks, MI, and Jamie (Nora) Bouchard of Colorado; sisters, Sandy Hebert of St. Jacques, MI; Dottie Fagan of Escanaba, MI; Patty Wood of Munising, MI; Kay Thompson of Newberry, MI, and Karen (Bernie) Hogan. Harold also leaves behind eight grandchildren, Ken, Kirsten, Kennedy, Megan, Michael, Tayler, Megan, and Johnny in addition to many great-grandchildren who will continue to carry forward his memory and values.

He was preceded in death by his parents Harold and Dorothy, his sister Shirley, and half-sister Ida.

A celebration of Harold's life will be held on Saturday, May 17th from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. at the Cooks Town Hall. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be directed to The Bouchard Family.
