Harold Ray Young 78, passed away peacefully on July 2, 2025 at SSM St. Mary's Hospital in Jefferson City, MO. He was born on January 20, 1947, in Jacksonville, IL the son of Ralph C. and Mary Evelyn Young. He was united in marriage on September 18, 1966 to Jean Hadden who survives at their home.



Harold was self employed for many years and enjoyed remodeling houses. He was a fan of Alabama football, Kansas basketball, and St. Louis Cardinal baseball. He was a member of the Westlake Christian Church in Sunrise Beach, Mo.



In addition to his beloved wife: Jean; Harold is survived by two children: Scott (Sarah) Young of Winchester, IL., and Melissa Schildman of Jacksonville, IL.; four grandchildren: Logan Young (Alexis Reynolds), Austin Young, Kate (Brandon) Monk and Jack Schildman (Gabbi Meehan); one great-grandson: Colton Monk; one brother: Eddie (Judy) Young of Winchester, IL.; and beloved dog: Lexi.



He was preceded in death by his brother Bob Young.



A Celebration of Harold's life will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday July 13,2025 at Williamson Funeral Home in Jacksonville, IL. Visitation will be from 12:30 p.m. until the time of service.

Expressions of sympathy may be made to The Leukemia And Lymphoma Society or the Jacksonville Athletic Booster Club.
