Harold Sherman Sipes, 76, of Snow Shoe, passed away on Saturday, July 12, 2025, at Geisinger Medical Center. Born on May 8, 1949, in Lock Haven, he was the son of the late Harold B. and Mary M. (Winslow) Sipes. On April 14, 1984, Harold married Priscilla F. Stasko in Snow Shoe. She survives at home.

Harold was a 1967 graduate of Bald Eagle Area High School. He proudly enlisted in the United States Army on October 18, 1968, and achieved the rank of SP5. He received an honorable discharge on October 12, 1971. For his dedicated service, Harold was awarded the Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal, two Overseas Service Bars, and marksmanship honors as an Expert (M-16) and Sharpshooter (M-14).

Following his military service, Harold worked for many years at Cerro Copper and Brass until its closure. He later worked for PennDOT until his retirement.

He was a member of Snow Shoe United Methodist Church and a proud member of Snow Shoe VFW Post 5644.

Harold enjoyed life's simple pleasures. He loved spending time outdoors hunting, fishing, and camping. He also had a fondness for classic western movies, which brought him joy and comfort.

In addition to his wife, Priscilla, Harold is survived by his son, Dustin S. Sipes, of Snow Shoe and Dustin's companion, Heather Poorman; his granddaughter, Riley Sipes; and his brother, M. David Sipes of Moshannon.

Along with his parents, Harold was preceded in death by his sister, Dorothy M. Lyons.
