Hazel Dare Billings Constantino Obituary

Hazel Dare Billings Constantino 92, of Daleville VA passed away on July 6, 2025, peacefully at home holding her rosary.
She was born on May 8,1933 in Halls Mills, NC. Hazel will be remembered as a loving wife of nearly 60 years, a dedicated and loving mother, and "Noni" to 4 grandchildren.
She was a dedicated homemaker that loved getting visitors, determined to supporting family and friends. She loved to garden and always looked forward to the Spring. She constantly brought a smile to the table and to others around her creating an immediate connection to anyone that walked in the door. She loved sharing stories with her family. Passing on traditions from generation to generation.
Hazel lived a life rooted in faith, devoted to Christ, and guided by the teachings of the Catholic Church including teaching literacy to immigrants, becoming an active member of the Ladies Guild, and after moving to VA, the Italian-American Heritage Club.
Hazel was predeceased by her husband, Nick Constantino and son, David Wayne Constantino. Parents, Edgar Connie Billings and Cora Lee Harpe Billings, sisters Joyce Virginia Stanley and Loyce May (Faye) Billings. Son in law, James Weldon Wright II.
She is survived by her sister, Mary Ohm. Sister in law, Angel Constantino. Daughters, Lynette Wright, Rochelle Palazzola (Sal) and Bernadette D'Alessandro (John). Grandchildren Lucia Constantino (James), Alyssia Palazzola, Brianna Palazzola (Nathan) and Drew D'Alessandro. Also many nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends. The family would like to thank Good Samaritan Hospice, Karis Care Services, Amedisys Home Health, Botetourt fire and EMS, and all of the caretakers that helped her during her illness.
The family will receive visitors at Rader Funeral Home, Daleville VA on July 9 from 5-7pm.
A funeral mass will be held July 10th at the Basilica of Saint Andrew, Roanoke VA at 12 noon, where she was an active member. The mass will be officiated by Fr. Andrew Clark and Fr. Xavier Banasul (Church of the Transfiguration). After the funeral mass a private burial will be held at Woodlawn Cemetery, Bluefield, WV.
