SWOOPE – Helen Joyce (Davis) Clark, 78, passed away Wednesday, July 3, 2025.

Helen was born in Dumfries, Virginia on November 23, 1946. She was one of 13 children of the late William F. and Ethel Mae (Vaughan) Davis.

Prior to retirement, she was employed by Walmart in Staunton as a warm and friendly sales associate for over 25 years. She truly enjoyed her job, her co-workers and the store's customers. At home, Helen especially enjoyed flower gardening and wildlife. She was an avid reader and a savvy thrift-shopper. She LOVED sweets, and loved her cats even more!

Helen was preceded in death by her husband, Truman Dexter Clark; and a granddaughter, Nicole Lynn Meadows. Surviving are two daughters, Japonica Joyce Schlenker of Dale City, and Theresa Lynn Elliott of Swoope; one brother, Clifton Davis and wife Linda Brigham of Stafford; three grandchildren, Jennifer Marie Nelson Tedder, Kevin Schlenker, and Amanda Joyce Elliott; and two great-grandchildren, Aiden Lewis Nelson and Caleb Michael Tedder.

In accordance with Helen's wishes, there will be no public services.

She was such a very nice woman back when I worked for her and Truman at the 7/11 on #234. They treated me as one of their own. Condolences to the family.
