Joseph Robert "Bob" Lane, age 68 of Hardinsburg, KY passed away October 10, 2025, at University of Louisville Hospital. He was born in Hardinsburg, KY on March 2, 1957, son of the late Claude Edward and Mary Elizabeth Alexander Lane. Bob was a member of St. Romuald Catholic Church and Painters Local Union 156. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, collecting antiques and knives. He made walking sticks, which he gave to friends and anyone in need. He loved being Papaw Bob to his grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his granddaughter Taya Lane, brother Jim Lane and sister Anna Ray Roach.
Bob is survived by Patricia Stinnett Lane, his wife of 47 years.
Son – Alex Lane of Kingswood, KY
Daughter – Beth Lane Drane of Hardinsburg, KY
4 grandchildren – Izak Drane (Chelsea); Laynie Drane (Zander), Ryder Lane and Tyler Kinnerson
2 great grandsons – Drake Drane and Weston Drane and 2 great grandsons due in 2026.
Brother – Bill Lane of Hardinsburg, KY
Sister – Mary Edward Henning (Larry) of Hardinsburg, KY
Sister-in-law – Betty Lane of Short Creek, KY
Mother and father-in-law – Clarence and Anna Frances Stinnett of Hardinsburg, KY
Brothers-in-law – Stanley Stinnett and Marty Stinnett (Sheila) of Hardinsburg, KY
Many nieces and nephews that he dearly loved.
Funeral services will be held at Trent-Dowell Funeral Home on Wednesday, October 15, 2025, at 5 PM with cremation to follow. Visitation will begin at 1 PM on Wednesday. All times are central.
Expressions of sympathy are suggested to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or Kosair Charities.
