Helen P. Lassiter, born in Stephenville, Newfoundland, on May 9, 1938, embarked on her final great adventure on July 12, 2025. At 87, Helen returned home to Heaven, reuniting with the love of her life and best friend, Robert Lassiter.
Helen and Robert shared an extraordinary bond, married on June 20, 1957. Their later years were spent traveling the continent from Mexico to Canada and even Alaska. Helen truly embraced life with a zest for adventure, enjoying four-wheeling in the desert and parasailing in the ocean.
More than anything, she cherished her family and her unwavering faith in Jesus Christ. Helen leaves behind a legacy of laughter, countless memories, and a family held together by her loving spirit, including her three children, Kathy (nee Lassiter) Sims, Robert T. Lassiter, and Brian Lassiter. She is also survived by numerous grandchildren and even more great-grandchildren. Helen was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Robert.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, July 17th, at the Kidwell-Garber Laurie/Sunrise Beach Chapel with Pastor Nick Stutesman officiating. The family will receive friends from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m., Thursday, at the funeral home. Inurnment will be held at a later date in Garber Memorial Estates. Memorial contributions are suggested to the Laurie Care Center.
Arrangements are under the direction and care of the Kidwell-Garber Laurie/Sunrise Beach Chapel.
