Helen June (Rapp) Knarr Kelley, 88, passed away July 18, 2025, in her hometown of Indianapolis. June was a beloved sister, mother, and grandmother known for her gentle demeanor.
She graduated in 1955 from Ben Davis High School. She worked as an administrative assistant at The Indianapolis Star & News and Howard Sam’s; she then worked as a Commercial Lines Rater at General Accident and General Casualty insurance companies, retiring from General Casualty in 1999.
June most enjoyed her years as a stay-at-home mom (one of her many joys was serving as a Cub Scout den leader) and grandmother. She enjoyed card games and reading, and was an avid Colts and Pacers fan.
June was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years Richard Knarr, parents Austin and Mildred Rapp, brother Thomas Rapp, and husband Fred Kelley. She is survived by her children Kimberley (Ira) Seigel, Dawn (Darrel) Fitch and Christopher (Haley) Knarr; five grandchildren – Cassie, Christopher, Brenna, Ally, and Trevor; four great-grandchildren – Shilah, Noah, Carson, and Emma; and brother Gerald (Cindy) Rapp.
The family is grateful to the staff at Robin Run Senior Living and Guardian Angel Hospice for the tender care provided to June over the last several months.
