Helen Dorothy Wilson ( Smith) “Grammy Wilson” age 95, passed away peacefully on August 9, 2025, in East Burke, Vermont, surrounded by family.

Born on November 17, 1929, in Grantham, New Hampshire, Helen lived a long and full life marked by generosity, resilience, and an unwavering love for her family. She was the beloved wife of the late Walter Wilson and together they built a legacy rooted in compassion and strength.

Helen was the devoted mother of four daughters: Elaine Jobin, Lorraine Nelson, Dorothy Wood, and the late Sandra Paquin. Her nurturing spirit extended through five generations—she was cherished by 13 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren, and 26 great-great-grandchildren. Her family tree continues to grow with many others who were touched by her kindness and warmth.

Known affectionately as “Grammy Wilson,” Helen had a heart that knew no bounds. She loved everyone unconditionally and gave selflessly to those in need—even if it meant going without herself. Her generosity was not just a trait but a way of life that inspired all who knew her.

Helen found joy in simple pleasures—especially spending time with her family and going out to eat. These moments brought her happiness and created lasting memories for those fortunate enough to share them with her.

She was also known for her favorite sayings that brought smiles and laughter to generations: “What’s your name? Pudding Tang. Ask me again and I’ll tell you the same,” “Bread and beer—if I was dead I wouldn’t be here,” and the comforting words of Psalm 23. These phrases became part of her legacy—echoes of her humor, wisdom, and enduring faith.

Helen is now reunited with her loving husband Walter, her beautiful daughter Sandra Paquin, her loving brother Richard Smith and his beloved wife Avis Smith, three grandchildren, and one great-grandchild who predeceased her.

Her memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew her. May the love she gave so freely continue to shine through those she leaves behind.
