Helen Virginia Wright (née Brock), born, on July 6, 1935, in Norborne, Missouri. She passed away peacefully on December 17, 2024, at the age of 89. She was the beloved daughter of Addie Ann (Lindley) and Julius E. Berning.
Helen grew up in Pueblo, Colorado, where she graduated with the Centennial High School class of 1953.
In May 1963, Helen married Arthur R. Wright in a heartfelt ceremony at the Wrights home near Boone, Colorado. Together they built a life filled with love and shared memories until Arthur's passing in 2001. A talented professional seamstress, Helen also found joy in the outdoors, hunting and fishing with the family in the Roaring Fork Valley where they lived until 1980.
She was a dedicated member of the Canon City Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star for more than 50 years, and served as a past Worthy Grand Matron, a role she held with pride and distinction.
Helen is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Arthur, and her sisters MaryAnn Brock Fishburn and Ruby Brock Spate.
She is survived by her daughter Debra Stone; two grandchildren, Jackie Stone Carlson and Paul Stone (wife Rachel); and three great-granddaughters, Maya Carlson, Naomi Carlson, and Madelynn Stone.
Cremation was chosen, and no services are planned at this time. Arrangements were entrusted to Goes Funeral Care in Fort Collins.
Helen will be remembered for her many talents and her devotion to family and community. May her memory bring comfort to all who knew her.
