Hemlata Naik Obituary

Hemlata Kishorkumar Naik, aged 69, passed away on April 10, 2025, in Newark, Delaware, where she had lived since moving from Kadodara, Gujarat, India, in 2002.
Hemlata was born to the late Mohanlal and Lalitaben Desai and grew up in Tundi village, Surat, India. From a young age, she loved to travel, spend time with family, cook a variety of meals, and go shopping. A true foodie, Hemlata found joy in exploring flavors and sharing meals with others.
In 1977, she married Kishorkumar Naik, and together they raised two sons and one daughter, fulfilling their dream of building a better life in America. Upon moving to Delaware, Hemlata worked various jobs to support her family and ensure a brighter future for her children.
She was a selfless soul who dedicated herself to the service of others. A devoted member of the BAPS Swaminarayan Mandir, Hemlata attended and volunteered weekly, often preparing meals for the Sunday evening sabha.
The family of Hemlata Naik extends their heartfelt gratitude to all who have offered love, support, and compassion during this difficult time. Your kind words, presence, and shared memories have meant the world to us. A special thank you to those who provided assistance and comfort, and to the medical staff who cared for Hemlata with dignity and respect. We are deeply grateful to each and every one of you.
A funeral service will be held on Monday, April 14, 2025 at 10:00 AM at Chandler Funeral Home, 7230 Lancaster Pike, Hockessin, DE 19707.
