Hubert Allen Obituary

Hubert (HC) C. J. Allen of Dawson passed away September 11, 2025, at HSHS St. John's Hospital in Springfield. HC was born May 18, 1942, at St. Clara's Hospital in Lincoln, IL to Hubert C Allen and Della Mae Moss. He married Shirley J Harrison on May 14, 1965, she preceded him in death October 23, 2009. HC survived by his children, Kevin Allen (Tina) of Carrolton and Corry Blose (Arnold) of Dawson. Grandchildren – Samantha Allen, Kyle Allen, Kendra Rowden, Gabe Hart, Cherish Langheim, Alisha King, Nicholas Combs and Stephanie Combs. Great Grandchildren – Braeden, Lydia, Layken, Sophie, Ezra, Emrie, Adam and Madison and many cousins, nieces nephews, former co-workers and too many friends to count. HC is preceded in death by Vincent Blose (grandson), James Allen (brother), Mary Allen (sister), Nancy Allen Tungate (sister), Frank Bell (brother-in-law), Jack Raymond (friend) and Stan (Butch) Woosley (friend). HC retired from Altorfer Inc. as a Field Service Diesel Mechanic in 2004. He served in the US Navy from 1960-1964. His free time was spent fishing, hunting and spending time with his family and friends, often at a lake or river fishing or in a tree stand hunting. Cremation services are being accorded. Graveside services are scheduled for Monday September 22, 2025 at Camp Butler National Cemetery outside Springfield. Military Honors are going to be held at 11:00am.
