Honorio Hernandez, better known as Fernando, 76, passed away at home on June 13, 2025. He was born on August 7, 1948 in Utuado, Puerto Rico.
Honorio Hernandez moved to Pennsylvania as a young adult and became a cook at a fine dining restaurant near Lancaster, Pennsylvania. In 1988, he met his soulmate, Nilda Rodriguez. She had 3 adult children and a 16 year old daughter; Eunice Rios, Ernesto Perez, Diana Molina and Ivette Diaz. In 2004, they moved to Deltona, Florida, after purchasing their home, and on July 7, 2013 they got married. During the time they lived in Deltona they made many friends, they were both retired and had many hobbies they shared as a couple. He loved to cook, he loved to go fishing, he loved repairing things such as cars and appliances. Honorio was a handyman, and not only did he serve his family he also served his community. He also appreciated the value of scrap metals. Honorio and Nilda enjoyed eating at several local establishments and throughout the years they'd go to "El Coqui Bakery" on Providence Boulevard every morning to have breakfast and socialize with owners and customers. Honorio's humorous personality will always be remembered. He and his wife were inseparable and loved to make people around them laugh and smile. They visited churches in their community, friends and family often. Honorio's hugs were special to his friends and family. Honorio was a kind, caring, servicing, humorous, humble human being. He loved and cared for his wife until it was beyond his abilities. He will be missed by his family and friends immensely.
Honorio leaves behind his wife and soulmate, Nilda Rodriguez; his son, Ernesto Perez; his daughters, Diana Molina and Ivette Diaz; his grandchildren, Cynthia Diaz, Michael Cruz, Abel Molina, Shekina Molina Abdias Molina, Ernie Perez; and his twelve great-grandchildren ranging from 1 year to seventeen years old.
A memorial service for Honorio will be held on Monday, June 30, 2025 from 6:00 – 8:00 pm at Lohman Funeral Home with a sermon by Chaplin Myra from Iglesia Nueva Vida.
