Howard Herbert Christensen, 85, passed away on December 7, 2024 in Las Vegas, NV. Howard was born June 23,1939 in Evanston, IL to Leonard and Sophia (Kafantaris) Christensen. He married Danice Solomon on August 20,1975 in Rapid City, S.D.
Howard was raised in Morton Grove, Il. As a kid Howard caddied at Glenview Golf Club and worked at the Brach candy factory. He attended the University of Illinois at Navy Pier. He had a long career with IBM and moved between Chicago and Rochester MN eventually settling in San Jose CA where he and Danice retired from the company. Howard enjoyed John Wayne movies, classic rock and opera music. He loved to collect Native American art, visiting national parks and was enthralled with the beauty of Lake Mead and the surrounding area.
He is survived by his wife Danice of Boulder City, NV, daughter Lisa (Tim) Voit of Woodbury, MN, grandsons Jordan (Ali) Voit of St. Paul, MN and Taylor (Clare) Voit of Minneapolis, MN, great grandson CJ Voit of St. Paul, MN, brother Bruce Christensen of Louisville, CO, sister Karen Gould of Lake Bluff, Il. He is also survived by 38 nieces and nephews and many great nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents and siblings – Frances Rice, Betty Kokenes, Antoinette Karras, Cleo Clark, Maren Swindell, Leonard Christensen Jr., Barbara Arnold, and Carol Wheelock.
Funeral arrangements will be announced at a later date.
