Ila B. Sanders Johnson, age 83, passed away peacefully at Cordova Health and Rehabilitation Center in Cordova, Alabama on July 24, 2025. Ila was born on October 25, 1941, in Cordova, Alabama. Ila was preceded in death by her father, Milford Maborn Sanders; her mother, Ila Mae Sanders; and her husband of 58 years, Kenneth E. Johnson. Together, Ila and Kenneth built a life centered around family and faith and lived in the Boldo community for 50+ years. She is lovingly remembered by her son, Malcolm Johnson (Julie); her daughter, Tonya Brown (Mark); her sister, Melba Harbison, Nephew; Rodney Findley (Shae), Grandchildren: David M. Brown (Casey), Josh B. Brown (Kara), Megan Johnson, and April Roberts Rickard (Neil); Great-Grandchildren; Ellison Brown, Finley Brown, and a new addition expected soon to Josh and Kara Brown. Great Niece; Maddie Findley and Great Nephew; Maddux Findley. To them-and to many others-she was affectionately known as "Momma B," a name that captured the warmth and love she shared so freely. Over the years, she was a devoted member of East Walker Church of Christ, Liberty Church of Christ and Cordova Church of Christ, where she found spiritual strength and fellowship throughout her life. Ila dedicated many years of service as a school bus driver for both Walker County Schools and Jasper City Schools. Her commitment to safely transporting generations of students reflected her steady presence and deep-rooted care for her community. Outside of work and family life, Ila enjoyed playing Golf, also camping and fishing were enjoyed by her and her husband Kenneth for many years in Pickensville, Alabama - all pastimes that brought her joy and fellowship over the years. A viewing will be at Collins-Burke Funeral Home on Saturday, July 26, 2025 from 11 am to 12 pm and a private graveside service for family at Walker Memory Gardens around 1 pm. Levi Sides and Roy Williams will be officiating. In lieu of flowers, Ila requested that donations be made to Indian Creek Youth Camp at 7855 Pleasantfield Road, Oakman, Alabama, 35579-an organization close to her heart.
