Mrs. Imogene Boyington, age 82, passed away peacefully on June 28, 2025, surrounded by her loving family in Atmore, Alabama. Originally from Perdido, she had lived in Atmore for many years and was a proud member of the Poarch Band of Creek Indians. Imogene found joy and strength in her faith as a devoted attendee of the Fretwell Tabernacle Holiness Church. Her kindness and spirit will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
She had a big heart filled with simple joys. Every morning, she would sip her coffee while listening to her favorite Gospel music, letting the uplifting melodies fill her home with warmth. She loved spending time with her family, cheering loudly for Alabama football on game days, her excitement echoing throughout the house. When she wasn't busy watching the shopping network, she enjoyed the gentle sound of her wind chimes dancing in the breeze. She also had a special fondness for Dr. Pepper, often treating herself to a cold can while surrounded by loved ones, making every moment feel just a little bit sweeter.
Preceded in death by her, parents, Roil Hadley and Dottie Burdick; husband, O'Neal Boyington; two sons, Danny Wayne Boyington and Mark Randall Boyington; daughter, Racheal Reeves; five brothers, Donnie Hadley; Steve Hadley; Melton Hadley; Leo Hadley; and Thomas Earl Hadley; sister, Pauline Weaver.
