Ina Hoffses Obituary

Mapleton - Ina L. Hoffses, 91, On August 2, 2025, our Lord and Savior received another precious angel, our mother, Ina Lee (McPherson) Hoffses.

Mom was born April 26, 1934, to parents, Vinal W. McPherson and Phoebe (Grendell) McPherson, in Chapman, Maine.

Mom married her high school sweetheart, our dad, Eugene Hoffses, on December 17, 1951, at Grant Memorial Methodist Church in Presque Isle.

Shortly after the wedding, they traveled to Sampson Air Force Base near Romulus, New York, where dad was stationed.

We enjoyed hearing stories of their early days about how small their apartment was and even though mom was very home sick, she felt blessed that they were together.

After returning home in 1955, they made their home in Castle Hill.

While raising four children, mom enjoyed a long career in banking until her retirement in 1989 to care for her dad, our Grampie Buster, before his passing.

Mom enjoyed her time as a Den Mother where her boys were boy scouts, summers at our camp on Squa Pan Lake, an extended trip to Alaska after our dad's retirement, making her famous homemade macaroni, camping, crocheting, knitting, word find puzzles, happy meals from McDonalds (with extra fries), Mr Goodbars and especially ice cream.

Mom was predeceased by our Dad in 2019, her parents and brothers, LeRoy "Roy" Vinal "Bing" and Elvin "Chick" McPherson, as well as a son-in-law, Charles Hill III.

Mom is survived by her children, Lori Graves (Ron), Richard (Bud) Hoffses (Belinda) Robert "Bob" Hoffses (Lorie), and Lisa McPherson (Ron).

Mom will be missed by many including eight grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren.

We would like to extend our sincerest and heartfelt gratitude to Madigan Estates in Houlton. Every person our mom came in contact with there showed our mom exceptional compassion, kindness and care. We would also like to extend our gratitude to Andwell Hospice. The Andwell team provided us with unwavering support as we navigated mom's journey with her.

We will remain forever blessed for all the loving hands Mom had on her in her final days.

Those who wish to attend a graveside service with military honors for Eugene and Ina Hoffses may join us at 10:00 AM Saturday, August 16, 2025, at Southside Cemetery in Mapleton, with the Rev. Granville Lamb Jr. officiating. We will be carrying out their final wishes and placing them together forever.
