Ionie Smith Blake was born on June 10, 1962, in St. Elizabeth, Jamaica. A star was born to Daisy McLean and Ernest Smith by the name of Ionie Smith. Living in Jamaica she loved dancing, singing, and the joys of family. Hard working and driven with a dream, she moved to the Bahamas for an opportunity and a brighter future. After living there some time, she decided to move to the United States to pursue the American Dream. After arriving in Miami, she worked hard in various jobs such as nursing, housekeeping, etc.
In 1983 she became a mother to Rhonda Smith. During that time she met and married Lanzell Osbourne and migrated to Fort Pierce, Florida. Filled with love and enjoying life, family, and the people of Fort Pierce, she become a mother to her second daughter, Shuntay Osbourne in 1988. She continued to spread her love and joy to the elderly, friends, and family working as a Home Health Aide for many years.
In 2002, she met the lover of her life; her soulmate Lindel Blake, which later turned into a beautiful union of husband and wife.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Daisy McLean; father, Ernest Smith; daughter, Rhonda Smith (daughter).
Left to cherish her memories are her husband: Lindel Blake; daughter: Shuntay Osbourne; stepdaughter: Paulette Blake; stepson: Paul Blake; granddaughter: Camille Similien; sisters: Josephine Williams, Kayann Williams, and Budecia Williams; brothers: Anothny Royal and Garfield Royal; cousins: Cecile Cranston, June Cranston, Millicent Cranston, Oliver Cranston; best friend and extended sister: Joanne Miller of St. Elizabeth, Jamaica; and a host of nieces, nephews, other family, and sorrowing friends.
