Irma Miller was born December 2, 1930, to Chester Arthur and Inez Ann (Reasoner) Miller at home, northeast of Beaconsfield, Iowa. She attended school in Beaconsfield.

Irma married Roy L. Huntsman on June 16, 1957, in Albert Lee, Minnesota. Irma & Roy settled in the house she was born in and enjoyed their life together. Irma had no children of her own, however, she did care for the neighborhood children. She was an artist and has painted over 50 pictures. Roy passed away in their home while being cared for by Irma on March 3, 1990.

Irma had a brother living in Southern California and a sister of the home. In 1990, she purchased a new car and drove to Southern California to visit her brother and nieces.

Irma was widowed for several years until she met Neil Johnston. They were married on October 12, 2008, at Hickory Grove Advent Christian Church with a reception at the Mount Ayr Country Club. Irma enjoyed card games, dancing and going with Neil to the Tingley Meal Site and visiting with people. Irma & Neil attended many auctions together. Neil passed away March 13, 2020.

Irma passed away May 27, 2025, at Clearview Home in Mount Ayr, Iowa. She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands, her sister Velma and brother Chester Jr.
