Iva Fischer Obituary

Iva Verlaine Fischer, age 92, of Fremont, died peacefully on Tuesday, July 8, 2025, at ThedaCare Regional Medical Center-Neenah.
She was born March 12, 1933, in the Township of Wolf River, WI, the daughter of A. Charles and Edna Buchholz Hahn. Iva was a 1950 graduate of Weyauwega High School. On June 6, 1953, she was united in marriage to William Fischer at Hope United Church of Christ in Fremont.
One of Iva's proudest accomplishments was running the dairy farm with her husband Bill in the town of Wolf River and also for 50 years, Iva was co-owner of Fischer Farm Equipment with Bill. She also waitressed at Hahn-a-Lula Resort for 18 years, was a teacher's aide in Fremont Grade School and drove school bus for a few years. When Iva wasn't out enjoying bowling, she stayed active volunteering at the Weyauwega Food Pantry and Wolf River Historical Society, where she was on the 150th Anniversary Committee and helped write their history book. Iva was a 4-H Leader who was known for making the best pie crusts! She was a member of Wolf River Homemakers and Hope United Church of Christ in Fremont, where she stayed active teaching Sunday School, singing in the choir and helping on the funeral committee. Iva was also a member Fremont American Legion Auxiliary.
She is survived by her husband, William "Bill" Fischer; daughter, Sherry (Larry "Butch") Behm; son, James (Jackie) Fischer; seven grandchildren, Jessica (Joe) Arndt, Jason Behm, Natashia (Ken) Everts, Juliana (Ben) Morack, Alacia Weed (sig. other, Wesley), Jordan Fischer and Samantha (Michael) Rogers; nine great-grandchildren; brother, Ken (Barb) Hahn; and nieces and nephews. Iva was preceded in death by her two brothers, Marlyn (Janet) Hahn and Clifford (Judy) Hahn; and an infant sister, Darlene Hahn.
Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, July 15, at 11:00 a.m., at Hope United Church of Christ in Fremont, with Rev. Gene Ramsey officiating. Interment will be in East Bloomfield Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Monday, July 14, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., at Barbola-Hempel Funeral Chapel in Poy Sippi, and on Tuesday at the church from 9:30 a.m. until the time of services.
