John Charles ( J.C.) Pate was born September 04, 1941 in Stockton, MO. to Ted Berlin Pate and Ethel Gertrude (Daniels) Pate. He attended school in Stockton, where he graduated from the 8th grade. He then went to work on his family's farm and sawmill. In 1970 he met the love of his life Shirley Hill. To this union two daughters were born and a son, along with his son, 3 bonus daughters and 2 bonus sons. J.C. and Shirley lived on a farm just outside of Stockton. He drove a truck over the road for many of those years. In his later years he worked for the Cedar County Road and Bridge where he retired from. In 1998 he purchased his grandparents home in Stockton, where he and Shirley would live out the rest of his life. J.C. was saved at home in bed on March 09, 1978 and was an active member of Old Union Missionary Baptist Church. Where he could be found sitting in a pew on Sundays singing his favorite hymns or giving the testimony of his salvation. The thing that was most important to J.C. was his family. They were the most cherished part of his life. He would do anything for them at moments notice with no questions asked. J.C. was a great man with the best heart and somewhat of an onery streak. He loved all things nature, farming, fishing, trapping and gardening. He leaves behind a legacy of compassion and endless love. He lived a life well done and will forever be missed. He is preceded in death by his parents, Ted and Ethel Pate, his in-laws Sterling and Elsie Hill, brothers Jack and Bill Pate, sister and brother in-law Jean and Joe Coulter, nephew Timothy Pate. He is survived by his wife of 54 years Shirley and their children. Kimberly and Charles Moss, Christie and Brandon Beckley, Jonathan Pate, Donald Pate, Dennis Mincks, Cathie Barham, Malinda Crawford, Dalinda Hlavacek, Todd and Thresa Mincks. Grandchildren Haliena and Logan Clegg, Olivia Beckley, Shamberly Guthrie, Michael Dawes, Jay and Autumn Guthrie, Coy Crawford, Justin and Heather Crawford, Michael and Christy Hlavacek. Kenneth and Joni Maynard, Jason and Kimberly Maynard, Shane and Christy Maynard, and Scott Mincks. Many great grandchildren and great great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and family and friends. You will be forever missed and loved by all of us, but forever in our hearts.
