Rodger was born March 12, 1930, in North East, PA, the son of the late Charles and Mildred (Swift) Moyer.
He was raised and educated in North East, graduating from North East High School in1949, while in high school he worked the night shift at General Electric. Rodger then served in the Army National Guard in 1958 and was activated and served in Germany in 1950. He returned in 1952 and worked at Corry Jamestown for several years before buying the Corry Dairy Queen Restaurant in 1962. He and his wife, Shirley, worked there for over 40 years, until their retirement.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Shirely, whom he married November 25, 1949, in Corry; his daughter; Leigh Ann VanCise; grandson; Steven VanCise; brother James Moyer.
Rodger is survived by his son Jay (Judy) Moyer of Corry; son-in-law Jim VanCise, of Corry; two grandchildren Chris VanCise and Ryan Moyer.
Services will be held privately by family.
Arrangements are under the care of Bracken Funeral Home, Inc., 315 N. Center St., Corry, PA 16407.
