Jacob Reed Dunsmore, 32, of Parker City, passed away on Monday, June 30, 2025, at IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital following a courageous battle with cancer.
Jacob was born on December 3, 1992, in Muncie to Todd and Terri (Reed) Dunsmore. He was a 2011 graduate of Yorktown High School. Jacob worked as a front end tech at Canpak. He was a member of the Muncie First Brethren Church. Jacob enjoyed bowling, golfing, music, skateboarding, and collecting Pokemon Cards with his kids.
Jacob is survived by his loving wife of 10 years, Rebecca Dunsmore; their three children, Zionnah, Declan, and Jonah Dunsmore; his parents, Todd and Terri (Reed) Dunsmore, brother, Zachary Dunsmore (wife Christina); grandparents, Terry and Judy Reed; grandmother, Sharon Kate Dunsmore; two nieces, Lilo and Dory Dunsmore; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Jacob was preceded in death by his grandfather, Robert Dunsmore; and two uncles, Shane and Ted Dunsmore.
A funeral service to celebrate Jacob's life will be held at 6:00 pm Monday, July 7, 2025, at Gant Funeral Homes – Yorktown Chapel, 2215 S. Broadway St. in Yorktown. Burial of Jacob's ashes will be at Gardens of Memory at a later date.
Friends and family may gather to share and remember from 3:00 pm until 6:00 pm on Monday at Gant Funeral Homes – Yorktown Chapel.
Memorial contributions may be given to aid his wife and children with expenses in care of Rebecca Dunsmore.
