CHURCHVILLE – Jacqueline "Jackie" Feuerhelm, 89, formerly of Churchville, passed away Monday, June 30, 2025 at The Legacy at North Augusta.
Born December 15, 1935 in St. Joseph, Missouri, she was a daughter of Bill and Edna (Coder) Leighty.
On August 30, 1957 she married Duane L. "Dewey" Feuerhelm and they raised their family in locations around the world while Dewey pursued his military career. In 1992, Jackie and Dewey retired to Churchville, where they were active members of St. James United Methodist Church. Jackie also enjoyed volunteering with numerous local organizations, including Cat's Cradle, the Churchville Food Pantry, H.E.L.P., Ride with Pride, and Habitat for Humanity.
She was the last living member of her immediate family.
Jackie is survived by her beloved husband of 67 years as well as three children, Jody L'Heureux and husband Jacques of Fishersville, Jeffrey Feuerhelm and wife Bo of Morrisville, N.C., and Jon Feuerhelm and wife Dian of Redwood City, Calif; eight tremendously loved grandchildren; and three cherished great-grandchildren.
Following cremation, burial will take place in Arlington National Cemetery.
A memorial service will be held 11 a.m. Monday, July 7 in St. James United Methodist Church, officiated by Pastor Lester Kennedy and Chaplain Dale White.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to a charity of choice.
